About

I’ve been up, down and everywhere in between. That’s why this exists.

I was an active kid, then I wasn’t. I got heavy. For a while that was just who I was, and it shaped how I saw myself in a way that took years to undo. Eventually I turned it around, and once I’d proven I could change the thing I thought was permanent, I wanted more than just being lighter. I wanted to be strong. So I started training, and I never really stopped.

That was about twenty years ago. Since then I’ve lived the training life every way you can: as the person grinding through their own changes, and as the personal trainer in the room helping other people through theirs. Coaching was never a side thing for me. I did it because I genuinely like helping someone build something they didn’t think they had in them.

Then my life started moving

These days I’m an executive and entrepreneur, and the work travels. I split my time between homes in Las Vegas and Atlanta and I’m on the road anywhere from once a month to five or six times a month: client visits, conferences, family, friends. My wife and I travel together constantly. It’s a good life. It’s also the exact life that wrecks most people’s training.
Here’s what I learned the hard way. The problem on the road isn’t that you’re lazy. It’s that everything that normally holds your routine together is gone. Your gym, your kitchen, your sleep, your schedule. Lose those and three good weeks of work quietly leak away. I’ve shown up to enough hotel gyms with one bench and a rack of dumbbells that stop at fifty pounds(with several missing) to know the standard advice doesn’t survive contact with reality.
So I stopped looking for the perfect setup and got good at the actual one. I travel with my meals, and I’ve figured out the workarounds for when I can’t. I train no matter what the room gives me. I plan for the trip before I’m on it instead of hoping it works out. I don’t miss workouts and I don’t miss meals, not because I’m disciplined in some superhuman way, but because I built systems that survive a bad day in a strange city.

Why this isn’t just about the body

The longer I’ve done this, the more I’ve come to believe the training was never only about how I look. The structure is the point. Keeping the routine when everything around me is chaos is what keeps my head right, and a clear head makes me better at everything else: the work, the relationships, the decisions. The body is the visible part. The discipline underneath it is what actually changes your life. I’d rather tell you that straight than sell you abs.

What I’ve done, and what I’m still doing

This isn’t only my own story. Through personal training, custom diet plans, and coaching, I’ve helped people drop fifty plus pounds, get to the leanest body of their lives, or build forty plus pounds of real muscle. Different people, different bodies, different starting points. The constant was a plan that fit their actual life and goals, and someone keeping them honest.

I’m also still a student of this. Twenty years in, I’m still learning, still adjusting my own training, still chasing the next change in my own body. I don’t think you ever graduate from this stuff, and I’d be suspicious of anyone who says they have. The day I stop learning is the day I’d have no business coaching anyone.

What Built Anywhere is

Built Anywhere is the training brand for people whose life won’t hold still. It’s honest about tradeoffs. We’ll tell you when a workout is maintenance and when it’s progress, instead of pretending every hotel session is a great one. It’s multi-modal, because travel forces you to use bands, bodyweight, dumbbells, cables, and conditioning, so we cover all of it. And it’s built to outgrow me. Right now it’s my voice and my experience. Over time it becomes something bigger, with more people and more depth, still held to the same standard: it has to actually work on the road.

Work with me

If you want this built around your specific life, coaching is application-based and intentionally small.
